This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a commercial vehicle including tractor-trailers while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. You'll be the backbone of our logistics operations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer service. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and freight requiring special care such as refrigerated or tanker loads. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries within local driving routes while adhering to traffic laws. Deliver freight directly to customers or distribution centers, providing excellent customer service during each interaction. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and reliability. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license for local routes. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety procedures related to dangerous goods transportation. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation is highly desirable. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery schedules. Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading and unloading processes while following logistics cargo handling protocols. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, load securement, and adherence to traffic laws.
