In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight across diverse routes. Your expertise in route planning, adherence to safety regulations, and efficient delivery will ensure our customers receive their goods on time and in excellent condition. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo is secured properly according to logistics cargo handling standards. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations. Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, manage route changes, and report any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across various terrains. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations, flatbed hauling, tanker transportation, and automobile transportation is preferred. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading tasks efficiently. Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems for route planning on OTR routes. Demonstrated ability to handle freight securely while adhering to safety protocols for hazardous or dangerous goods.
