Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Car Hauler Driver, where you will be the vital link in transporting vehicles across long distances safely and efficiently. Your role involves hauling specialty and standard vehicles using refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker trailers, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped for automobile transportation along OTR routes, including refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker trailers as needed. Load and unload vehicles with precision, following proper manual handling procedures and ensuring cargo security. Navigate using GPS systems to plan efficient routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods when required, adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety, including checking for mechanical issues or hazards that could impact transportation. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in truck driving, especially in automobile transportation or freight delivery over long distances. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and handling hazardous materials when necessary. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for commercial trucking. Ability to manually load and unload vehicles or freight safely and efficiently while following logistics cargo handling procedures.
