Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a self motivated and experienced Truck Driver with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to join our team for over-the-road (OTR) routes. This role involves transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. You will operate tractor-trailers (vans and refrigerated trailers). Your expertise in commercial truck driving will help us maintain our reputation for reliable service and operational excellence. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles on OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Drive Freightliner vehicles with automatic transmissions pulling refrigerated and van trailers. No touch freight (or company paid lumpers when required). Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations. Transport diverse freight types including produce, refrigerated goods, and other dry logistics cargo. Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip. Maintain accurate eLogs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA, DOT, and company policies. Ensure proper handling of goods in compliance with and maintaining safety at all times. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Skills Proven experience driving tractor-trailers on OTR routes with a strong understanding of commercial truck driving principles. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation, cargo securing techniques (straps & load-locks). Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Ability to inspect and count shipments for accuracy prior to or during load & unload for documentation & integrity where permitted by shipping/receiving company policy. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols related to transportation of various perishable, protective service and general FAK. Experience with OTR driving involving irregular routes across multiple states or regions while maintaining high safety standards. Skilled in truck and trailer maneuvering in varied dock and yard configurations safely and efficiently. Driving record demonstrating safe operation of commercial vehicles under various conditions. Ability to handle automatic transmission trucks confidently while adhering to all safety guidelines. Good communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch teams and customers.
