Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across diverse locations. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Transport automobiles and other specialty cargo securely using appropriate trailer types and manual handling techniques. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in adherence to DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery statuses, or unforeseen delays. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, forklift operation, and freight handling equipment. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is essential. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for various types of freight including refrigerated goods and automobile transportation. Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road routes. Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment; capable of lifting heavy cargo safely. Join our team to drive your career forward!
