Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Silage Truck Driver and become a vital part of our agricultural logistics operations! In this energetic role, you will operate specialized trucks to transport silage—fermented feed used for livestock—from fields to storage facilities. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to navigate diverse routes will ensure efficient delivery and support the productivity of our farming community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, master complex driving skills, and contribute to sustainable agricultural practices. Duties Safely operate silage trucks equipped with floor chain trailer transport chopped corn from the field to the silage pit. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and safety equipment to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Communicate effectively with manager to coordinate deliveries, report issues, or adjust routes as needed for maximum efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with tractor-trailers or over-the-road (OTR) routes. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is prefered. Experience with trucks and trailer is a must. Skilled in manual transmission operation and manual handling techniques for cargo loading/unloading.
