Construction Water Truck Driver Division:
Cascade, ID - Valley County Summary Granite Excavation is seeking an experienced Construction Water Truck Driver to join our team in Valley County. Granite Excavation is a family-owned construction company based in Cascade, Idaho, with additional operations in the Treasure Valley. We specialize in earthmoving, underground utilities, paving, and miscellaneous concrete structures for both public and private projects. The Water Truck Driver plays an important role in maintaining safe and efficient job sites by controlling dust, supplying water for construction operations, and supporting crews as needed. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and able to work well in a fast-paced construction environment. Applicants must possess a valid CDL, have a clean driving record, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Granite Excavation is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Primary Responsibilities Safely operate a water truck on construction sites and public roadways. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required vehicle inspections and documentation. Operate water truck spray systems to control dust on roads, work areas, and stockpiles. Fill water tanks from approved water sources and monitor water levels throughout the day. Maintain proper water coverage while avoiding overwatering or creating unsafe site conditions. Follow all directions from the Foreman or Superintendent regarding daily assignments and job site needs. Work safely around heavy equipment, underground utilities, and other construction personnel. Ensure all loads and equipment are secured and operated in accordance with company safety policies. Report mechanical issues or needed repairs immediately. Keep the truck clean and perform basic preventative maintenance checks. Assist with general labor duties when the water truck is not in operation, as needed. Comply with all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and FMCSA requirements. Qualifications Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record. Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card). Previous experience operating a construction water truck preferred. Experience working on heavy civil or roadway construction projects preferred. Ability to safely operate spray controls and understand proper dust suppression techniques. Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Tanker endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain if required). Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel when project needs require. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
