Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver and embark on exciting long-haul journeys across the country or regional! In this role, you'll operate tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions, hauling a variety of freight including food grade tanker and flatbed. Your expertise in driving commercial trucks will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across extensive routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Transport diverse cargo types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and freight requiring specialized handling. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo details in accordance with federal guidelines. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and potential issues. Ensure proper securing of loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Experience Proven experience as a truck driver with a focus on long-haul or route driving in a commercial setting. Hands-on experience operating trucks with manual transmissions. Familiarity with handling various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks. Delivery driver experience preferred, demonstrating efficiency in load & unload procedures. Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight transportation and vehicle maintenance. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks is a plus. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the cargo handled (e.g., tanker endorsement).
