In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across diverse routes. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbed, refrigerated trailer, tanker, dump truck, roll-off truck, and other specialized vehicles following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption. Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while maintaining safety standards. Secure cargo properly using appropriate techniques for different types of freight, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when applicable. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking manual transmission systems, brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and various vehicle types such as flatbed trucks, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures including load & unload operations for freight of different types. Experience in route driving across urban and rural areas using GPS navigation tools. Understanding of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, hazardous materials handling (if applicable), and DOT compliance standards. Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with freight involving hazardous or dangerous goods.
