Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, motivated Class A CDL Truck Driver Recruiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the trucking industry and experience recruiting qualified CDL drivers. This position is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and helping qualified Class A CDL drivers through the hiring process while providing an excellent candidate experience.
- Responsibilities
- Recruit and attract qualified Class A CDL truck drivers
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, recruiting platforms, referrals, and other recruiting channels
- Conduct phone screens and interviews with potential drivers
- Verify CDL qualifications, driving experience, employment history, and other required credentials
- Pre-qualify applicants according to company and DOT requirements
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with applicants throughout the hiring process
- Explain company pay, benefits, equipment, routes, home-time options, and other job details
- Coordinate with Safety and HR to move qualified applicants through the hiring process
- Maintain accurate applicant records and recruiting activity
- Develop new strategies to increase driver applicant volume and hiring
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified drivers
- Follow all applicable company, DOT, and FMCSA recruiting and hiring requirements
- Meet recruiting and hiring goals established by management
- Qualifications
- Previous CDL driver recruiting experience preferred
- Knowledge of the trucking industry and Class A CDL requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively sell the company and position to prospective drivers
- Strong follow-up and organizational skills
- Comfortable making a high volume of phone calls and communicating by text/email
- Experience with recruiting software, applicant tracking systems, and job boards preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, dependable, and goal-oriented.
