Riverside Transport is hiring a Yard Jockey to safely move and spot trailers within our Kansas City yard, supporting efficient warehouse and dock operations. In this full-time role, you'll use a yard truck/tractor to position dry van and refrigerated trailers, manage yard flow, and maintain accurate trailer locations. You'll perform basic inspections, follow all safety and DOT guidelines, and communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams. Responsibilities Safely move trailers in and out of docks and yards using yard truck or tractor Inspect trailers for damage, proper securement, and safety compliance before movement Coordinate closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to meet loading and unloading schedules Maintain accurate trailer locations and yard inventory using handheld or onboard systems Perform basic equipment checks, reporting any mechanical or safety issues promptly Follow all DOT, company, and yard safety procedures at all times Support efficient yard flow to reduce wait times for drivers and improve turn times Assist with occasional spotting, staging, and repositioning of equipment as directed Required Skills Yard truck/spotter truck operation Tractor-trailer maneuvering in tight spaces Dock and yard safety procedures Basic trailer and equipment inspection Use of yard management or trailer tracking systems Handheld or onboard communication systems Knowledge of DOT and company safety rules Backing and coupling/uncoupling trailers Time and load priority management Basic documentation and trailer inventory tracking
