Teens Against Killing Everywhere (TAKE) is seeking an experienced Construction Trainer to join our YouthBuild St. Clair County Program, a nationally recognized education, youth development, and workforce development program serving opportunity youth ages 16-24. This is more than a construction job—it's an opportunity to mentor, coach, and prepare the next generation of skilled trades professionals. You'll teach in a classroom and construction lab environment where young adults develop technical skills, industry-recognized credentials, confidence, and the work ethic needed for successful careers in the building trades.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master Carpenter, retired or experienced carpenter, contractor, construction superintendent, foreman, or skilled trades professional interested in mentoring and training the next generation of construction professionals. Experience working with opportunity youth, justice-involved youth, or young adults facing significant educational, employment, or personal barriers. Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or supervising apprentices or entry-level workers. OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
HBI PACT
Instructor certification, MC3 Instructor certification, NCCER Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain. Individuals whose personal, professional, or lived experiences reflect or relate to the backgrounds of the youth we serve are encouraged to apply.
