Duties Safely operate Class B commercial trucks, including those with manual transmissions, across designated routes and OTR driving schedules. Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo safety and compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize delivery routes and meet tight schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking load security, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery driving. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight cargo handling. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Excellent navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution. Capable of manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading and securing freight. Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with clean driving record; additional certifications such as Hazmat endorsement are preferred but not required.
