Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers and flatbeds Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing travel time. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines. Deliver freight to various destinations, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with all DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for flatbeds. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and confidently. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and proper handling of dangerous goods. Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations governing commercial trucking operations.
