Drivers will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating plow and salt trucks to service commercial properties during winter weather events. Responsibilities Operate commercial plow and salt trucks safely and efficiently. Plow parking lots, drive lanes, entrances, and other designated areas. Apply salt and deicing materials according to property requirements and weather conditions. Perform pre-salting and additional applications as directed. Monitor road and property conditions throughout snow and ice events. Follow assigned routes, service plans, and supervisor instructions. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report any equipment issues. Maintain accurate service and material-use records when required. Safely navigate around vehicles, buildings, curbs, light poles, islands, and other obstacles. Communicate with supervisors regarding changing site conditions or service needs. Assist with snow removal operations as needed. Maintain a professional attitude and represent the company appropriately at customer properties. Qualifications Valid driver's license required. Previous commercial snow plowing or salt truck experience preferred. CDL preferred for applicable equipment. Ability to work long, irregular hours during snow and ice events. Must be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins during winter weather. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to safety and detail. Reliable transportation to and from the shop/staging location. Ability to work in cold, snowy, and adverse weather conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods. Ability to get in and out of trucks and perform basic equipment inspections. Ability to assist with winter maintenance tasks when needed. Ability to work safely in cold, icy, and snowy conditions.
