Description Summary of Position:
The CDL Driver primarily shuttles trailers between Elgin and Huntley locations and facilitates trailer movement within the truck yard and docks. The person in this position is responsible for truck maintenance andmunication and operates JBSS equipment with safety and caution. Functions of the
Position:
Shuttles trailers between Elgin & Huntley locations with proper documentation and weights. Drives within the speed limit and keeps road conditions in consideration. Spots trailers in both Elgin and Huntley locations by moving trucks in and out of dock locations and around the truck yard. Performs pre-operational inspections of truck and trailers, reports any service needed to Supervisor. Requests supplies such as glad hands, mud flaps, 5th wheel grease, etc. to Supervisor in a timely manner. Coordinates between the scale house and Shipping Clerk to keep the traffic flowing during both shuttling and spotting. Ensures trucks are winterized to prevent breakdowns, heated in the morning, and secured at night. Monitors and reports low fuel levels. Immediately reports any breakdowns to the Supervisor. Maintains cleanliness and organization of trucks and trailers. Properly uses and cares forpany-issued phones and familiarizes self with the Go Motive app. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years experience as a CDL driver, more preferred. Material handling equipment certification required (JBSS Issued). CDL Class A license.
Skills and Competencies:
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Basic math skills. Ability to train others.
