Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules and timely arrivals. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Conduct pre-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure. Load & unload freight accurately, verifying shipment contents against delivery documents while maintaining compliance with logistics cargo handling procedures. Deliver freight to various destinations while managing route driving responsibilities with professionalism and safety consciousness. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., hazmat, tanker). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across long distances. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling proficiency. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, automobile transportation or other specialized freight is preferred. Ability to perform truck loading and unloading tasks efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines. Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
