Join the Unity Lab Services team as a Sr. Site Specialist - Driver, providing critical logistics and laboratory support services to research and development facilities. This role is responsible for the safe transportation of materials, inventory management, stockroom operations, and customer support while ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures. A Day in the
Life:
Support daily operational needs of laboratory and research environments. Deliver samples, supplies, dry ice, gas cylinders, and other materials to designated locations. Execute daily delivery routes and ensure timely transportation of materials between sites. Maintain inventory accuracy through stockroom systems and inventory management tools. Load and unload deliveries, restock supplies, and support material transfers between locations. Provide customer support by responding to requests and resolving routine issues. Collect, sort, and store waste materials in accordance with safety procedures. Follow all safety, shipping, handling, and transportation requirements. Assist with safety audits and corrective actions assigned. May perform other duties as assigned by management. Keys to
Success:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Required:
2+ years of experience in logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, laboratory support, or a related field.
Required:
Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, box trucks up to 10,000 lbs. on public roads.
Preferred:
Experience supporting laboratory, pharmaceutical, or research environments. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Valid Driver's License required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Experience using inventory management systems and Microsoft 365 applications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to follow SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance requirements. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card. The company will support candidates in obtaining this during the pre-employment process. As a condition of employment with Thermo Fisher Scientific, candidates must successfully complete Thermo Fisher's pre-employment screening (including background check, Moving Vehicle Report and drug test) and any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements. Customer requirements may differ from or exceed Thermo Fisher's criteria. Regular lifting of materials up to 60 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and manual material handling activities. Work performed in laboratory, stockroom, warehouse, loading dock, and customer-site environments. Operation of delivery vehicles, forklifts, and material handling equipment may be required. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, and steel-toe shoes, may be required. The role may involve working independently at customer locations, including laboratory environments with exposure to chemicals and other regulated materials. Overtime work may be required.
