Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries. Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly in accordance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain accurate delivery schedules. Transport various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, flatbed loads, and tanker shipments while complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure. Load and unload cargo efficiently at delivery points, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo handling procedures. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, driver logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation in line with DOT regulations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Demonstrated ability to operate different types of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers. Familiarity with route driving on OTR routes as well as local delivery driving. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) and the safe handling of dangerous goods. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation accuracy. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance standards. Prior experience in truck loading/unloading, freight handling, and delivering freight safely on time.
