Duties Safely operate flatbed trucks equipped with the latest technology on OTR routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, secure, and unload freight including freight requiring specialized handling such as hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or tanker loads. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety at all times. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and load manifests, ensuring full transparency and compliance with FMCSA regulations. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with flatbed trailers Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking. Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving across diverse terrains and conditions. Understanding of DOT regulations, and safety protocols related to dangerous goods transportation. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload processes. Valid CDL-A license with clean driving record; additional certifications such as Hazmat endorsement are a plus but not required initially.
