POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation / Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of products to store locations, warehouses, or other company facilities. This role ensures accurate loading, transportation, and unloading of goods while maintaining compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety standards. The Transportation / Driver also represents the company through professional interactions with store associates, customers, and vendors.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to assigned destinations.2. Verify accuracy of delivery loads against shipping documents before departure.3. Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and methods.4. Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent damage and maintain quality.5. Complete required DOT logs, vehicle inspections, and trip reports accurately and on time.6. Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies and regulations.7. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized delivery vehicle.8. Report any vehicle maintenance or safety issues promptly.9. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with store associates and vendors.10. Assist with backhauls or special assignments as directed by the Transportation Manager.11. Support other transportation department activities when not on delivery routes.12. Perform other duties as assigned to support transportation and company operations.

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B depending on vehicle requirements.

Clean driving record with ability to meet company insurance standards.

Previous driving/delivery experience preferred; grocery or food distribution experience a plus.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.

Ability to safely operate lift gates, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and related equipment.

Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

Primarily in company vehicles, with regular loading/unloading at warehouses, stores, and vendor facilities.

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, temperature extremes, and traffic environments.

Requires extended periods of sitting, driving, and physical labor when handling freight.
