Home Daily Location:

South Bend, IN (Position is based in South Bend — not Chicago)

Pay:

$25 to 30 hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Local Driver to support full-cycle transportation and moving operations. This role goes beyond driving — you will lead the loading, transport, and delivery process while ensuring customer satisfaction and safe handling of materials. Ideal candidates are hands-on, safety-driven, and comfortable leading a small crew in a physically active work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate tractor-trailers for local delivery, pick-up, and relocation of materials Lead and assist in packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking of goods Protect customer property using pads, wrap, and proper handling techniques Complete and maintain accurate paperwork (Bills of Lading, inventories, logs, etc.) Supervise and direct helpers to ensure safe and efficient operations Inspect shipments for accuracy and quality upon receipt and delivery Maintain clean equipment and perform basic vehicle checks (fluids, tire pressure, etc.) Provide excellent customer service at all job sites Communicate with operations regarding job details, concerns, or issues Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations Report any accidents, violations, or vehicle issues immediately

Requirements:

Valid CDL Class A license (required) Clean driving record with a strong safety history Ability to pass DOT requirements, including: Drug screening Medical exam Background check PSP (roadside inspection history) Experience in moving, storage, furniture delivery, or similar field preferred Ability to operate straight trucks and tractor-trailers safely

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly Comfortable with continuous physical activity: standing, walking, bending, kneeling Strong stamina for hands-on, labor-intensive work
