Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks to deliver freight and cargo across various routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Your expertise in commercial driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will be essential in maintaining our high standards of service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our transportation operations, delivering goods efficiently while upholding safety and compliance at all times. Responsibilities Safely operate box trucks, including those with refrigerated trailers, on local routes to deliver freight promptly. Load and unload cargo manually or with appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials when applicable. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards during all driving activities. Securely load, unload, and inspect freight, including dangerous goods or specialty items such as tanker or flatbed loads. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure trucks are in optimal condition for safe operation. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, manual handling techniques, and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers is preferred. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), and dangerous goods handling. Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation accuracy. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes is advantageous. Good physical condition for manual handling tasks and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
