Job Description

American Plains Coop is hiring a full-time Bulk Fuel Truck Driver located in Great Bend, KS. This position is responsible for the delivery of fuel. This position is also responsible for accurate recordkeeping; following safety policies and procedures; professional and effective communication; and teamwork.
Summary of duties:
Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; respond promptly to customer needs, resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately, and meet commitments Calls on customers to provide the sale, service and delivery of refined fuels and other related products and services Delivers gas and diesel fuel Monitor inventory of bulk fuel Flushes fuel truck as needed Ability to pay close attention to details and accurately record information Manages records by writing sales tickets and receipts, and maintaining truck log per DOT regulations Operates vehicles and trucks in a safe manner and maintains a good driving record Responsible for upkeep and repairs for fuel truck and equipment and reports any issues to management Ability to work a variable schedule including days of the week, shifts and hours per week (including overtime and/or on-call as needed) Ability to manage multiple priorities and interruptions with patience and professional communication Promotes teamwork and successfully communicates with various departments and ability to work individually as needed Effectively and professionally communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management Responsible for understanding and complying with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance Maintain and promote safety awareness; follow safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements Complies with all state and federal laws, codes, and regulations Presents a clean and professional appearance Performs all other duties as directed by supervisor Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial Driver's License with a safe driving record (Class A or B) required. Prefer Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements, and/or the ability to obtain and maintain these items. Will provide assistance in obtaining endorsement if needed. Must be at least 21 years of age The employee must be able to lift and turn fuel hoses at various angles. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds and regularly pull/move 50-150 pounds.
