Job Description

Railway Clubhouse , located in Newton, Kansas adheres to the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs (https://clubhouse-intl.org), a non-clinical model of recovery, empowering adults to achieve their goals while reducing isolation and building community. Clubhouses are built upon the belief that every member has the potential to sufficiently recover from the effects of mental illness to lead a personally satisfying life as an integrated member of society. Clubhouses are communities of people who are dedicated to one another's success, no matter how long it takes or how difficult it is. (Beard, Propst, Malamud, 1982)
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Driver is accountable to the policies, procedures and mission statement of Breakthrough Episcopal Social Services. The Driver is responsible for providing safe and timely transportation for members/clients in a Clubhouse (prevocational Day Program.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Provide safe and timely transportation for members. 2. Assist in scheduling maintenance of vans. 3. Assist in cleaning and fueling of vans. 4. Be aware of weather changes and notify Clubhouse employees if road conditions become dangerous so that decisions can be made regarding the safety of members and staff. 5. Assist in tracking driving records. 6. Shopping for Clubhouse supplies. 7. Other duties as assigned. Specific Clubhouse tasks Safely transport members to and from the Clubhouse and other scheduled activities in a timely manner. Schedule and track regular maintenance for agency vehicles to ensure safety and reliability. Oversee the cleaning and refueling of Clubhouse vehicles on a regular basis. Stay informed about weather changes. Notify Clubhouse staff when road conditions may pose safety risks so that appropriate decisions can be made. Maintain accurate driving logs and record the number of rides provided to members. Inform job coaches when members miss scheduled rides to work. Assist with shopping for Clubhouse supplies and complete other duties as assigned. Ensure effective coordination of all transportation and vehicle maintenance activities for the Clubhouse. Valid State of Kansas driver's license required Must carry auto liability insurance on the personal vehicle
