An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Saturday:
6:00 AM-3:00
PM Sunday:
6:00 AM-3:00 PM, plus occasional evening on-call availability
Monday:
3:00-10:00 PM This can be a full-time position with benefits by adding the Sunday evening shift and/or other available shifts. Team members who regularly work the full Sunday double shift (6:00 AM-10:00 PM) receive a +$1/hour shift differential for those Sunday hours. Additional weekday evening and weekend hours may also be available. What You'll Do This is a hands-on pet care role with added leadership responsibility.
You'll:
Provide pet sitting, dog walking, feeding, potty breaks, and yard scooping Help keep daily schedules running smoothly Support caregivers with questions and unexpected situations Communicate pet concerns, client needs, and schedule changes Help maintain consistent care standards Step in when additional coverage is needed Expect to spend much of each shift traveling between clients and caring for pets. What We're Looking For 18+ and living in Newton, North Newton, or Hesston Reliable, insured vehicle + smartphone Comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and other pets Dependable, organized, and confident working independently Calm problem-solver with strong communication and follow-through Able to pass a background check and provide two professional references Able to commit for at least 12 months Physically able to walk several miles, use stairs, bend/kneel, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying Kansas weather Professional animal-care experience is strongly valued but not required. Experience in pet sitting, dog walking, boarding, veterinary care, shelters, kennels, grooming, or dog training may qualify for a higher starting rate. Team Lead Training Path Team Leads first spend approximately 60-90 days learning the role as Pet Caregivers before taking on leadership responsibilities. During that time, you'll learn our: Clients, pets, homes, and care routines Service and communication standards Routes, scheduling patterns, and service area Software and internal procedures Once you're ready, Team Lead responsibilities are added and pay transitions to the applicable Team Lead rate. We want Team Leads to understand the day-to-day work firsthand before being responsible for helping coordinate it.
