Job Overview Kansas Waste Recovery is seeking a motivated and dependable Trash Truck Driver to join our team! In this role, you will operate various types of waste collection trucks, including front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks, to ensure efficient solid waste management for our community. Your expertise in commercial truck driving combined with a strong safety mindset will help maintain our reputation for reliable service. Duties Safely operate different waste collection trucks such as front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks according to route schedules Load and unload garbage or recyclable materials while adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning of air brakes and other systems Follow established routes for municipal waste collection, ensuring timely pickups and efficient route driving Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, including load & unload records and mileage reports Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections checking brakes, tires, fluids, and lift components. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route issues or vehicle maintenance needs Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards during all operations Interact professionally with residents and business owners while keeping work areas clean. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsements Experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as front loader, rear loader, or roll-off trucks Knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocol adherence, and state transportation regulations Mechanical knowledge for basic troubleshooting and vehicle inspections Ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions Familiarity with hazardous materials regulations and solid waste management practices Comfortable working outdoors in all seasonal weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with clients during pickups Join us to make a difference in community cleanliness while enjoying a dynamic work environment that values safety, reliability, and your professional growth!
