Key Responsibilities and Duties Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor, trailer, and related equipment to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload freight or materials. Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, inspection reports, fuel records, and other required documentation. Follow assigned routes, schedules, delivery instructions, and customer requirements. Verify bills of lading, shipping documents, delivery receipts, and other paperwork for accuracy. Communicate professionally with office staff and other company employees. Promptly report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, delays, cargo issues, or other safety concerns to management. Maintain a clean and organized truck, trailer, and assigned equipment. Comply with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, company safety policies, and drug/alcohol testing requirements as applicable. Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct or assist with basic equipment checks and promptly communicate maintenance needs. Protect company property, customer property, freight, and equipment from damage or loss. Attend required safety meetings and training. Maintain a valid Class A CDL, medical certification, and any other legally required credentials. Perform other driving, transportation, or related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). No college degree required.
