Job Description

TRUCK DRIVER - CLASS A JOB SUMMARY
Transport Material from suppliers or assigned facilities. This is a Temporary Position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow 5S activities, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Follow the transportation rule and respect supplier's regulations while on their property. Immediately alert the Shipping/receiving Supervisor in the event of an accident, conditions of inferior quality or improper performing equipment, and follow his/her instructions. In the event of an accident while transporting materials take the appropriate action and contact the property authorities. Assist Shipping/receiving and Material Handling Associate as required. Perform inventory for finished assemblies and component parts as instructed. Associates who require a fork lift license or special driving permits will receive training and permits prior to the start of their duties. All associates in the position of requiring a license will receive either internal or external training and be tested periodically to ensure their knowledge and abilities. Present the records to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. Kaizen activities for the above items. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor. Follow and promote company safety standards to assure a safe work environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.
High School Diploma or GED required. 2. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 3. Class A CDL with Air Brakes certifcation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires the ability to learn and follow standard work practices. The ability to acquire a fork truck driving permit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION 1.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear 3. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences 4. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand 5. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
