Job Description
GFL Environmental is seeking a safety-focused CDL Driver to support our environmental services operations. In this essential role, you will operate commercial vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver solid and liquid waste and recyclables on assigned routes. Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-trip inspections, following all DOT, company, and environmental regulations, safely operating lifting and loading equipment, and maintaining accurate route and service records. You'll interact with customers professionally, report equipment or route issues, and contribute to GFL's mission of sustainable, community-focused waste management. Training and growth opportunities provided. Responsibilities Operate commercial CDL vehicles to collect and transport waste, recyclables, and related materials on assigned routes Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues Follow all DOT, company, and environmental regulations and safety procedures Safely operate lifting, loading, and compaction equipment Maintain accurate route logs, service records, and required documentation Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch regarding service or route changes Support a safety-first culture by following PPE requirements and reporting hazards Assist team members and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient route completion Required Skills Commercial truck driving Vehicle inspection and maintenance checks Route navigation and scheduling Safe loading and unloading procedures Compliance with DOT regulations Use of on-board routing/telematics systems Time management Basic equipment troubleshooting Recordkeeping and route documentation Customer service
