Vocational/Technical Training (PSC U006) Position Summary The Welding Instructor provides hands-on vocational training to students ages 16-24 at the Pine Knot Job Corps Center. The instructor delivers structured welding instruction, prepares students for industry certifications, ensures safe shop operations, and supports the center's mission of developing job-ready skills. Key Responsibilities Deliver welding training in accordance with Job Corps curriculum and USDA Forest Service expectations. Provide classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and supervised shop practice. Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant welding environment. Assess student skills, track progress, and prepare reports as required. Prepare students for entry-level welding employment and certification testing. Maintain government-furnished tools, equipment, and materials properly. Support center policies, student conduct expectations, and vocational readiness goals. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a welder and/or welding instructor. Ability to teach multiple welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW).
