Duties Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover disabled or damaged vehicles from accident scenes, breakdowns, or private property. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after towing to ensure proper handling and safety compliance. Load and unload vehicles with precision using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure transport. Diagnose basic mechanical issues on-site using automotive diagnostics tools and perform minor repairs when necessary. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely vehicle recovery and support. Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and service logs for accountability and reporting purposes. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and traffic laws while driving and operating heavy machinery to ensure a safe work environment. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics. Proficiency in operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, and other heavy equipment safely. Hands-on experience with manual transmissions and commercial driving licenses preferred. Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while maintaining safety standards. Excellent customer service skills to handle interactions professionally during stressful situations. Conflict management skills to resolve issues calmly and effectively with customers or team members. Knowledge of automotive systems, including basic troubleshooting of mechanical problems.
