Bossier City, Louisiana; travel based on assigned routes Reports to: Transportation / Operations Manager Position Summary New Era Trucking & Logistics is seeking a dependable CDL Truck Driver to transport freight safely, complete deliveries on schedule, and represent the company professionally. This position operates assigned commercial vehicles and assists with loading, unloading, and securing freight. Key Responsibilities Operate assigned vehicles safely and follow applicable transportation requirements and company policies. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report maintenance needs. Verify freight counts, delivery instructions, and shipping documents. Load, unload, and secure cargo using appropriate equipment and procedures. Maintain accurate delivery records, proof of delivery, and required driver logs. Communicate route progress, delays, accidents, and freight concerns to management. Work with delivery helpers to complete deliveries safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean vehicle and provide courteous customer service. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A or B appropriate for the assigned vehicle, with any required endorsements. Current medical certification when required for the assignment. Driving record acceptable under company and insurance requirements. Commercial driving and freight delivery experience preferred. Ability to use navigation tools, electronic logs when applicable, and mobile delivery applications. Pallet jack, liftgate, and forklift experience preferred; equipment may be operated only after required training and authorization. Dependability, sound judgment, and strong communication skills. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Work includes extended driving, climbing into and out of vehicles, standing, bending, and moving freight using equipment or team assistance. Routes may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight travel. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to perform essential job functions. Employment for driving positions is contingent upon review of the applicant's Motor Vehicle Record and meeting company and insurance carrier driver eligibility requirements. Applicants must complete the required authorization before the MVR is obtained.
