Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Haul Truck Driver and take on the exciting challenge of transporting oversized and specialized freight across diverse routes. This is a travel job, we cover hotels and also pay per diem. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods over long distances. Your expertise in heavy haul logistics, adherence to safety regulations, and commitment to excellent service will drive our success and keep operations moving smoothly. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for experienced drivers eager to showcase their skills in complex transportation environments. Responsibilities Safely operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers and specialized heavy haul equipment across over-the-road (OTR) routes Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo is secured according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and safety standards Navigate using GPS systems to plan optimal routes, avoid hazards, and meet delivery deadlines efficiently Maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA rules, and hazardous materials regulations during all phases of transportation Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety, including checking load securement, tire condition, brakes, lights, and fluid levels Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit Be able to maintain a clean drug, alcohol and background history. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on heavy haul operations involving tractor-trailers such as flatbeds or tankers Strong knowledge of logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and truck loading/unloading techniques Skilled in route driving with GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times while maintaining safety standards Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations for safe transport of dangerous goods Excellent driving record with experience in delivery driving over long distances on OTR routes Physical stamina for manual handling tasks involved in load securing and cargo management Embark on a career that challenges your driving skills while offering opportunities for growth in a fast-paced logistics environment.
