Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a CDL Delivery Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hazardous materials handling, will drive our success forward. This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills in route driving, truck loading and unloading, and manual handling are valued and utilized daily. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to deliver freight on scheduled routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Navigate using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery routes and meet delivery deadlines. Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers carrying hazardous or dangerous goods while adhering to hazardous materials regulations. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs for load & unload activities, freight manifests, and compliance paperwork in accordance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route progress, delays, or safety concerns to ensure smooth logistics operations. Experience Proven experience as a delivery driver with a valid CDL license (Class A or B). Demonstrated knowledge of commercial truck driving best practices, including truck loading/unloading and cargo handling. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and tractor-trailers is highly desirable. Experience navigating GPS systems for route planning on OTR routes. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations is essential. Prior experience handling dangerous goods or hazardous materials is a plus. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently in various driving conditions.
