Position Overview:

Our client in Carver, MA is currently hiring a 2nd shift Yard Horse. This is a temporary position starting September 21st through November 6th. The Yard Horse you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers and equipment throughout the yard, loading docks, and designated areas to support warehouse and transportation operations.

Mon-Thru-Friday, Saturday, and possible Sundays 1st

Shift:

7:30 AM to 4:30

PM Duration:

September 21st - November 6th

Pay Rate:

$25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Operate yard trucks to move trailers between docks, staging areas, and yard spaces Perform routine pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and drivers to coordinate trailer movements Maintain an organized yard to support efficient operations Verify trailer numbers, seals, and shipping documentation as needed Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues Follow all safety protocols and DOT regulations Assist with basic loading/unloading as required Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED (preferred) Previous experience as a yard jockey, yard driver, or switcher (preferred) Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A is a plus but not mandatory Ability to safely operate yard trucks and other heavy equipment Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed If you are interested, apply to this posting or call our office at (774) 501-1692 for more information.
