Job Description
Driver will be delivering to job sites so it is important to be personable, friendly, and courteous at all times. The job can be very physical and involve manual labor, loading and unloading lumber and other building materials by hand. Training is provided. Applicant is subject to pre-employment screening and drug and alcohol testing. Responsibilities Transport lumber and building materials from store location to customer job sites (i.e. construction sites) Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues Follow given delivery routes and meet schedules in a timely fashion Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Load and unload materials by hand or use of power equipment Skills Proven work experience as a truck driver - a plus Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS) Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Valid CDL license Up to date D.O.T medical card Drivers who have handled building materials a plus Operation of box truck, boom truck, or flatbed experience a plus Benefits include: Simple IRA, medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and holidays.
