Job Description

Keep your wheels turning with a steady regional route hauling dry van freight for the Petco account. Based out of Cranbury, New Jersey, or Westborough, Massachusetts, you'll run regional lanes across the Northeast, unloading with an electric pallet jack and liftgate trailer. Enjoy strong weekly pay, consistent home time, and a dependable Monday through Friday schedule. The Route This regional route covers the Northeast, including Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Hampshire. You'll run Monday through Friday (some weeks Sunday through Thursday), with no Saturday runs, and typically be out for the work week with 1 to 2 days at home. Job Details
  • Average pay: $1,700 to $2,000 per week, about $83,000 per year
  • Mileage pay: $0.70 per mile, plus $25 for drop & hook
  • Stop pay: $20 per stop (typically 2 to 3 stops per shift), plus $30 for loads run to the tailgate
  • Detention pay: $25/hour after the first hour ($50/hour in metro areas); $125 layover pay
  • Sign-on bonus: $2,500
  • 6th-day bonus: $75 when a sixth day is worked
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, midnight start times; no Saturday runs
  • Home time: Regional, home 1 to 2 days per week

What It Takes to Drive With Handled Now
    • Minimum 21 years of age
    • Current Class A CDL from your state of residence
    • Minimum one year of relevant Class A commercial driving experience
    • Comfortable with touch freight, including use of an electric pallet jack and liftgate
    • Acceptable references from past employers
    • Meet all applicable DOT qualifications Driver Expectations & Requirements
    • Perform all duties safely and responsibly.
    • Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or customer rules, standards, and guidelines.
    • Physically capable of performing all job duties, which include moving frequently, standing, walking, and sitting. Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg.
    • Ability to report all problems with equipment, as well as accidents, traffic violations, and damage before, during, and after the route.
    • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
    • Ability to perform routes, pickups & deliveries based on customer requirements.
