Position Summary Empire Office, through our Model Home Interiors (MHI) division, is seeking a dependable and safety-minded Driver to join our operations team in Maryland . In this role, you will be responsible for transporting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) from our warehouse to job sites, installing furnishings into model homes, and supervising helpers during projects. Overnight travel is required. As a key representative of MHI and Empire in the field, you will uphold our commitment to professionalism, customer service, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to deliver FF&E to residential and commercial job sites Load, unload, and secure products to prevent damage during transport Install furniture and accessories in model homes according to design specifications Supervise and direct helpers/assistants on job sites to ensure efficient and accurate completion of work Assist installation teams with placement, assembly, and setup of furnishings as needed Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and inventory records Inspect vehicles before and after use to ensure proper working condition and report any issues Adhere to all DOT, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations Provide professional and courteous service to clients, contractors, and partners on-site Support warehouse operations, including inventory handling and organization, when not on deliveries Travel overnight as needed to complete out-of-town installations Skills & Requirements Hourly pay rate: $20.00 - $23.50 per hour , based on experience and qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required Previous experience driving box trucks, vans, or other delivery vehicles a plus Experience in furniture handling, installation, or related field preferred Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. repeatedly and work in a physically active environment Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel overnight for projects Why Join Empire Office | MHI When you join MHI, you're also part of Empire and Co. , the nation's largest commercial furniture dealer with a growing presence in residential and lifestyle real estate design.
