Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Truck Driver to join our team. The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently driving a commercial vehicle to residential and some commercial location for bulk fuel deliveries. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods must be followed. The ideal candidate already has their Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B with Hazmat / Tanker Air) and has previous training in operating and driving. The Truck Driver will also be responsible for loading fuel into truck, driving to each location, pulling hose to fill the tank in a safety trained manner. Drivers average of 25 stops a day. Responsibilities Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Inspect truck daily for damage or maintenance problems (tire wear, dents, etc.) Plan routes and meet delivery schedules Deliver products according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and DOT regulations Works with dispatchers to coordinates the most efficient deliveries. Provides good customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company's image Ensures delivery of appropriate fuel in accordance with customer invoices Maintains valid driver's license, endorsements and DOT physical card and submits copies of renewals to the manager in a timely fashion Has the ability to safely load and unload products according to size of load and content description Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Follow all state and national large truck safety regulations and standards Accurately follow maps and directions for time efficient routes Refuel vehicle and check/replace oil as needed Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisors Maintain vehicle equipment; clean windows, windshields, and mirrors as needed; keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter Requirements Proven work experience as a truck driver High school diploma or GED equivalent certification Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations Must have a valid and current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate a large vehicle HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements required (minimum of class B) Must have a clean driving record with no recent moving violations Candidate should be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator Time-management and organizational skills & customer service skills required Able to work night, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed during November to
