Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, professional, compassionate, and trustworthy Driver to transport senior participants safely to and from our Adult Day Care program. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, has a positive attitude, and understands the importance of providing respectful and courteous service. This position requires more than simply driving—our driver will assist participants with safely getting into and out of the vehicle and provide a welcoming and supportive experience during transportation. Responsibilities Safely transport senior participants to and from the Adult Day Care and their homes. Pick up and drop off participants according to the assigned transportation schedule. Assist participants safely in getting in and out of the vehicle as needed. Provide courteous, respectful, and professional assistance to participants. Communicate appropriately with participants, families/caregivers, and Adult Day Care staff. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle. Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices. Conduct transportation duties in a dependable and timely manner. Report any transportation concerns, incidents, or changes in a participant's condition or needs to appropriate staff. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and dignity of all participants. Demonstrate patience, kindness, and a positive attitude at all times. Qualifications & Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to provide a clean MVA driving record . Previous experience driving seniors, older adults, or individuals who require assistance is preferred. Must be comfortable working with senior participants. Must be dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and accountable. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be patient, respectful, and compassionate. Must be physically able to assist participants safely in and out of the vehicle. Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Must be available Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM . Must be willing to work occasional Saturdays when needed. Must be able to follow schedules, instructions, and safety procedures. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys helping and interacting with seniors. Treats every participant with dignity and respect. Has a positive and caring attitude . Is dependable and arrives on time. Takes responsibility for their duties and can be trusted to work independently. Understands that participant safety is the highest priority. Is patient and professional when assisting participants at their homes and during transportation. Physical Requirements The driver must be able to assist participants with entering and exiting the vehicle safely. This may include providing physical support, opening and closing vehicle doors, and assisting participants who may have difficulty walking or moving independently. We are looking for someone who will treat our participants like family and help make their transportation experience safe, comfortable, and positive.
