This position is an OTR Contract opportunity starting at .65c per mile. Pay increase after 6 months.. $50 per extra stop, $25 detention per hour and $150 layover. We run loads from Jessup, MD to all states but West. 5-6 days work a week. First work day usually is Saturday or Sunday. Must have at least 3 years experience, references. No DUI, with 2 points on the driving record max. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while maintaining awareness of traffic conditions and road hazards. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify safety standards are met before each trip; perform routine maintenance checks during stops. Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery documentation and ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams using GPS systems and other communication tools to coordinate deliveries and report issues promptly. Experience Must have at least 3 years experience Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in over-the-road (OTR) driving routes with a focus on freight delivery across long distances. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling including load & unload procedures for various types of freight. Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to commercial trucking operations. Experience in delivery driving with a focus on route driving accuracy and customer service excellence.
