Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL Class A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team in . This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across diverse routes such as over-the-road (OTR) driving. As a CDL Class A Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, hazardous materials, and specialized cargo while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries and maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism on the road. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across assigned routes, including OTR driving routes. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo is secured properly in compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules effectively. Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods following all Hazardous Materials Regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, proper load securement, and compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Requirements Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is preferred. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety protocols for truck loading/unloading. Experience with freight handling involving logistics cargo handling procedures. Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.
