Job Description

Class A CDL Driver / Installation Crew Member West Shore Services is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Class A CDL Driver / Installation Crew Member to join our team. This is a unique, hands-on position that combines commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and field installation work.
Starting wage:
$24/hour+, based on experience and qualifications. Our team travels throughout Michigan and across the United States to complete specialized projects involving utility poles, outdoor warning sirens, mass notification systems, and related equipment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys traveling, working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a hardworking installation crew. Job Responsibilities Operate a manual-transmission tractor-trailer to safely haul utility poles, siren equipment, heavy machinery, and other materials. Assist the installation crew with the installation of mass notification systems, sirens, utility poles, and related equipment. Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment and materials. Assist with lifting, positioning, assembling, and installing equipment at project sites. Operate heavy equipment as needed and as qualified. Work with crew members to safely complete installation projects. Travel throughout Michigan and across the United States. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, DOT logs, and other required company records. Follow all
OSHA/MIOSHA
regulations and company safety procedures. Comply with all DOT regulations regarding the safe operation of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment. Perform other general construction, installation, and equipment-related duties as required. Travel & Schedule This is a travel-based position . Projects generally consist of 5-10 days of travel followed by 2-4 days home . Depending on the project, occasional travel periods of 11-15 days may be required. We provide a flexible schedule whenever possible. Home for all major holidays. Nightly hotel lodging provided. Daily per diem provided while traveling. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL required. Ability to safely operate a tractor-trailer. Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Michigan and the United States. Ability to perform physical, hands-on work in an outdoor environment. Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery. Strong commitment to safety. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Ability to maintain DOT logs and other required documentation.
