OTR Truck DriverWhy Drive with Merchant Excavating? Home weekly, with optional opportunities to stay on the road for up to two consecutive weeks Hourly Straight pay — get paid even while waiting (49 CFR Part 395 - Hours of Service for Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers) Weekly pay every Monday via direct deposit Per diem for each night spent over the road No-touch freight No overnight or graveyard shifts Company-provided uniforms Health insurance with dental and vision, plus a Health Savings Account (HSA) with investment options that may be used as a supplemental IRA Company-paid short-term disability Company-paid life insurance Paid time off Paid sick leave Paid holidays Paid training Boot reimbursement program Employee referral bonus program Company Description Merchant Excavating operates Monday through Friday, with optional opportunities for drivers to remain on the road for up to two consecutive weeks. Primary routes include Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee, though travel outside of these areas may occur as needed. Due to changing traffic patterns, weather conditions, and road environments, drivers are expected to adapt, exercise sound judgment, and practice defensive driving at all times. Essential Functions Complete and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment issues Safely transport freight to assigned destinations while following special load requirements, adjusting routes as needed, and maintaining consistent communication with dispatch Accurately maintain ELD logs, bills of lading, scale tickets, fuel receipts, and other required load documentation Follow all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations while ensuring equipment is properly maintained and stocked with necessary supplies Job Requirements Minimum of two (2) years of recent Class A CDL driving experience Ability to pass a DOT medical exam and drug screening Must be able to be dispatched from Alma, Michigan Must be able to stay overnight on the road Job Type Full-Time Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Retirement plan
