Your expertise in driving, safety protocols, and customer service will ensure smooth route operations while maintaining compliance with all DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations. Duties Safely operate Class B commercial trucks, including front loader, rear loader, and roll-off trucks, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations. Load, unload, and secure waste materials using front-end loaders or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of municipal waste and hazardous materials when applicable. Follow established routes for efficient collection, maintaining punctuality and route integrity throughout the workday. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic mechanical checks, and report any maintenance needs to ensure optimal truck performance. Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs, addressing questions or concerns courteously. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, and route activities in compliance with DOT regulations. Follow safety protocols diligently during outdoor work, heavy lifting tasks, and hazardous materials handling to prevent accidents or injuries. Qualifications Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a Class B endorsement required; experience with air brake systems preferred. Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as garbage trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, or roll-off trucks in municipal waste management or similar environments. Solid knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, hazard materials regulations, and state transportation rules. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during load & unload procedures. Mechanical knowledge for basic truck maintenance checks and troubleshooting. Excellent driving skills with a focus on defensive driving techniques to ensure safety at all times. Outdoor work experience preferred; comfortable working in various weather conditions throughout the day. Strong customer service orientation with professional communication skills.
