Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport freight via route driving, including OTR routes, ensuring on-time delivery across regional or national locations. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or dangerous goods. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and adapt to traffic or road conditions for optimal delivery times. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers (including refrigerated trailers), flatbeds, tankers, and other equipment to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues related to freight or vehicle maintenance. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license. Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazard communication standards, and hazardous materials regulations. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, adherence to traffic laws, and hazard awareness during long-haul routes. Experience in delivery driving within logistics cargo handling environments involving freight movement across diverse route types.
