Job Description
GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Front Load Driver to safely operate front-load waste collection trucks on commercial routes. You'll perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, follow assigned schedules, and collect, transport, and dump solid waste and recyclables while complying with DOT and company safety standards. Responsibilities include interacting courteously with customers, documenting routes and service issues via onboard systems, and working closely with dispatch and maintenance teams. Responsibilities Operate front-load waste collection trucks on assigned commercial routes Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs Safely collect, transport, and dump solid waste and recyclables Follow all DOT, company, and local safety regulations and procedures Use onboard systems to manage routes, service stops, and documentation Communicate with dispatch, maintenance, and customers as needed Maintain clean, safe vehicle and work practices at all times Complete required logs, reports, and incident documentation accurately Required Skills Commercial driving (Class B CDL or equivalent) Front-load waste collection truck operation DOT and highway safety compliance Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Route navigation and time management Use of onboard routing/GPS systems Knowledge of waste handling regulations Defensive driving techniques Customer service and communication Recordkeeping and electronic logs
