$21.00- $25.00 per hour, based on experience About the Position Royal Truck & Utility Trailer is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Driver / Switcher Driver to join our Hudsonville team. This position is responsible for safely moving semi-trailers and equipment throughout our yard and positioning trailers for service, delivery, and daily operations. The ideal candidate has experience operating semi-trucks and trailers and is comfortable maneuvering trailers in tight spaces. Responsibilities Safely move and position semi-trailers throughout the yard. Hook and unhook trailers as needed. Back trailers into service bays, parking areas, and designated locations. Move trailers and equipment between locations when needed. Perform basic pre-trip and equipment inspections. Maintain an organized and safe yard. Assist the Service Department with trailer movement and positioning. Communicate with Service, Parts, Sales, and Management regarding trailer locations and movement. Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements. Assist with general yard duties and other tasks as needed. Qualifications Previous experience operating semi-trucks and trailers preferred. Previous yard driver, switcher, hostler, or commercial driving experience preferred. Experience safely backing and maneuvering trailers in tight spaces. Valid driver's license required. CDL Class A preferred. Chauffeur's license may be required depending on job duties. Good driving record. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
