Job Description
The City of Ionia Dial-A-Ride is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Transportation Driver. This position is part-time with the potential of full-time. Duties include operating a small bus, rider interaction, performing daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections, collection of fares, record keeping on a tablet, operating a hydraulic lift, mobility device securement, monitoring the activity and safety onboard the vehicle, two-way radio communication with dispatch and other drivers, and other duties as assigned. Position reports to the Director of Transportation. Requires graduation from high school or an equivalent, possession of a Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement, good driving record, and completion of a pre-employment drug test. Minimum of one year of driving experience preferred. Proficiency with computers preferred. Appointment to this position on a permanent basis is contingent upon successful completion of the required probationary period.
